Here at EcoVillage Chicago we are ready to embrace a better tomorrow by building ourselves the lives we want. We are ready to thrive and live our best lives, together. EcoVillage Chicago is a venture of cooperative living which includes eventual completion of our vision of permaculture food forest, and sustainable housing. In short, we aim to live in harmony with each other, and delight in the rhythms of a life of purpose. We are here to care for each other, our community, and the world.
COOPERATIVE LIVING
Our vision is to have private living spaces for different generations of open minded, curious and artistic people who are ready to engage in a community of learners.
The housing options will ideally consist of some market rate housing units, as well as some units that are reserved for low income community members.
Communal meals and community meetings will be a part of how our vision of a shared life full of meaningful relationships is realized.
PERMACULTURE
FOOD FOREST
Our design includes a full cycle of living parts, all carefully put together with accordance of Permaculture design principals. We aim to have chickens, bees, a fruit orchard and plenty of veggies and herbs to go round!
The EcoVillage will strive to produce high quality annual and perennial crops, all with high environmental standards and organic practices. To get involved please be in touch!
